The Red Rooster Lodge has a long family history spanning three generations. The current owner’s grandfather and grandmother originally built the main lodge and bunk house as a place to retire in the seclusion of the Sierra Mountains some 45 years ago. Rather than living here, Simon and Ethel used the lodge as a vacation getaway for the family. With 5 sons and 15 grandchildren you can only imagine the family gatherings that took place. During the summer it was hiking and in the winter it was time to hit the sleds! Throughout the years it also doubled as the families hunting lodge an outpost for friends and family to rest after a long day. Today, The Red Rooster Lodge continues to reflect its rich past. With 30 years of experience in the area, we’re a fun group that has a wealth of knowledge about the region. Over the years we have come to understand what it takes to be a great vacation spot! Our guests enjoy the rustic charm that The Red Rooster has to offer. There is a feeling of home away from home. Don’t expect pavement and parking lots. Do expect quiet, comfort, and community.
